We are glad to inform you that the “Spatial Architecture” project is ready. This project comprises level 2 for the modeling and 3D printing area; it is designed for students from 7th grade and up, estimating a time of 16 to 20 hours class.
Spatial architecture is an aerospace engineering field that allows the design of spatial prototypes and environments in outer space. Some of the models included in the spatial architecture are: exploration vehicles, satellites, space stations, probes, among others.
For this project we will be using SketchUp, a 3D modeling tool, that can be used both online, which is the one we suggest, or locally, taking into account the minimum requirements for its installation and proper functioning.
Students will be able to design models using different tools from basic figures, depth, volume, group pieces for the object creation, until printing. For this step, you will learn how to configure and adapt the 3D model on the printer in terms of sizes, proportions, dimensions, supports and others.
We count with the necessary resources to impart this project in educational centers, from the teacher’s guide, the processes demonstrations and work files. This project helps us to continue expanding our educational proposal under the STEAM approach and to introduce methodologies to solve problems such as Design Thinking.
